OverviewThe Renaissance Learning Center (RLC) is a nonprofit Palm Beach County charter school, serving children with autism ages 3 - 14. RLC is now in its thirteenth year as a charter school, sharing this distinction with only one other existing charter school in Palm Beach County. We currently serve 96 students. Our school’s curriculum in based on the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), and we provide quality special education programs that are tailored to meet the unique needs of each student. The goal for every student is to maximize their potential using evidence based practices. RLC is committed to providing a quality education to all our students as well as providing much needed support to our parents. Our student/teacher ratio is 2.5:1. All our teachers are certified ESE teachers. We have four, full-time speech and language pathologists, two SLPA, a full-time and part-time occupational therapist, and two full-time board certified behavior analyst on staff. We believe that it is very important to provide the best tools, staff, and environment for our students. This puts our operating costs over and above what the School District allocates to our school. We offset this through vigorous grant writing, fund raising, and support from community members and businesses. The school has received several grants from local and national organizations and foundations, as well as a Florida DOE Dissemination grant in 2003 and 2004. We currently offer a rich educational environment during the school day. In addition to individualized instruction in the core curriculum areas of language arts, math, science, and social studies, we also integrate the following services and activities into the day:
After school therapy, activity-based groups, and before and after care services are also offered to our families and students. Click here to view our Mission Statement on the School Information page.
